Guardians of Orientaru, otherwise known as 'The Six Saviours', is a project that takes place in the Bearkindred universe in the region of Orientaru. It was born from a shape language challenge, in which I made six characters to see how much I could incorporate their respective shapes into their designs. I ended up liking them so much that I began developing a story for them, which turned into this!
The story begins when a storm god is banished from the pantheon, condemning him to suffer as a mortal below. In the process, his objects of godly power - golden rings - are scattered around Orientaru. Not anticipating this, the pantheon finds and encharges Orientaru's greatest warriors with an objective. The six must track down and secure all of the golden rings before the storm god can get to them and reclaim his powers, which he will surely use to wreak havoc on the world.
This project is currently on a kind of hiatus - I likely won't be returning to the story, but I still like the characters and draw them every now and then.
CHARACTERS
PERSEVERANCE
The de-facto leader of the six saviours, Perseverance is stoic and focused. It's not uncommon for others to feel like he is stand-offish, but in reality he is just incredibly dedicated to his job.
DILIGENCE
Diligence is Perseverance's second-in-command. Although he is similarly very into his work, Diligence is a lot friendlier and easier to get along with.
HOPE
The group's ray of sunshine. Like her name implies, Hope always seems to find the positives in any given situation, and is a great motivator to her fellow team members. She is slightly naive though.
INTELLIGENCE
Intelligence is the grouchy brains of the team. He has no time for feelings, preferring to think logically about things. This can unfortunately make him a bit blunt, and he has a hard time empathising with others.
STRENGTH
A gentle giant, Strength is physically powerful but has a soft heart. He rarely ever gets angry, and as much as he is happy to help out in many situations, he can be kind of a doormat.
LUCK
Luck acts as a mediator for the group, always managing to keep a level head. She is particularly good at giving advice to her team members, but often feels like her talents are the least useful.
